This policy covers the Ask Ru app only. Teatalz, our social app, is a separate product with its own policy.
1. What we collect
To sign you in: your email address. You sign in with a code we send there; we never ask for or store a password.
About you: your name, and whether you prefer English or Hinglish.
For a reading: your date of birth, your time of birth and how sure you are of it, and your place of birth. Time and place are needed to compute a birth chart. If you do not know your time of birth, say so — we leave out the parts of the chart that depend on it rather than guessing a time.
What you ask: your question, the cards you pick, Ru's answer, and any follow-ups in the same reading.
Technical: device type, app version, and basic diagnostics to keep the app working.
We do not collect your contacts, your photos, or your location beyond the birth place you type in yourself.
2. How we use it
- To give you the reading you asked for, and to compute your chart.
- To keep your past readings, so that Ru can refer to them and so they can be shown back to you when that is built.
- To make Ru better — please read section 4.
- To keep you safe: every message is checked for signs that someone may be in distress, so helpline information can be shown. If that check cannot run, we do not deliver the reading at all.
- To keep the service working and prevent abuse.
3. Who else sees it
Your question and the details needed for the reading are sent to the AI providers who generate it — today Anthropic, which produces the readings and runs the safety check, and no other AI provider at supporting checks. They process it under contract to provide this service and may not use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We will share it if the law requires us to.
4. Your readings are kept, and they are used to make Ru better
Please read this twice. It is the thing most people would want to know, and most apps bury it.
We keep your readings — the question, the cards and Ru's answer — until you delete your account. They are not deleted after a number of days.
We use them to improve the quality of readings for everyone who uses Ask Ru. This happens on our side, with our own models and prompts. We do not sell your readings, and we do not hand them to anyone to train their own general-purpose models.
Two things we want to be straight about:
- This is how Ask Ru works, not an optional extra. If you are not comfortable with it, please do not use Ask Ru.
- Once a reading has been used to improve Ru, that cannot be undone. Deleting your account removes your readings from our records, but it cannot reach back into an improvement already made.
5. How long we keep things
Your account, your birth details and your readings: until you delete your account.
When you delete your account from inside the app, your account and your readings are deleted and your email address is removed from our sign-in records, so the account cannot be recovered. This happens immediately — there is no waiting period in which you could change your mind.
Records the law requires us to keep, such as tax records once payments are live, are kept for the period the law requires.
6. Your rights
From inside the app you can see what we hold about you, export it, correct it, or delete your account. You do not have to write to us to do any of those. You can also write to rumesupport@teatalz.com and we will help.
7. Age
Ask Ru is not built for children. We set our Google Play age rating accordingly, and we ask for your date of birth because a reading needs it. If you are under 18, please use Ask Ru only with your parent's or guardian's knowledge.
8. Security
Your data is held in managed, access-controlled infrastructure, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfect; if something happens that affects you, we will tell you.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for anything that matters we will tell you in the app.
